This delightful play tells the story of a successful but egocentric novelist with writer’s block and his witty housekeeper of twentyeight years. He has received some devastating news and she has her own secret. In a ploy to avoid being alone David invites her to stay and have a drink. With  revelations that are surprising, funny and extremely moving he comes to the realization that he knows nothing about her, while she knows absolutely everything about him! It’s a love story, a social commentary and a mystery all wrapped up in snappy dialogue.

Deb Deckert

Actress - Lucy Hopperstaad

One of our founding members Deb has acted, directed and worked backstage in many ETC shows as well as with other groups in the area.  Among her favourite roles are Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly; Sister Hubert in Nunsense; Carmen, the alcoholic gypsy psychic in Cookin’ with Gus; and numerous historical figures with Guelph Museums’ Spirit Walks.  Her favourite directorial efforts include Ten Times Two which received numerous WODL awards, and the musical The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree. Deb thinks this quote perfectly sums up this play and her personal life: To be someone’s first love is great but to be their last is beyond perfect.
